CARE - National consultancy evaluation study

The International Disaster Reduction Day in Thua Thien Hue
(27/10/2009) On Wednesday, the 14th October 2009, more than one thousand people joined together to participate in the International Disaster Reduction Day in Hue. Hundreds of students made an impressive bicycle-march along the streets of the old capital. Top leaders of the province participated and gave speeches, strongly encouraging community based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). Important national and international organizations like the Central Disaster Management Center (DMC), the Ministry of Education, Department of Health, PCFSC, WHO, DWF, IFRC, and Save the Children raised a common voice for a comprehensive disaster awareness campaign.

Typhoon PARMA (No.10) – urgent update (13/10/2009 – 5pm)
(13/10/2009) Tuesday, October 13, 2009, 4pm, an extraordinary meeting was organized by CCFSC, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, to provide an urgent update on the situation regarding Typhoon PARMA and immediate actions to be taken. The storm has increased in strength and will make landfall at midnight, 4am, 14/10/2009.

Ketsana and Parma: situation overview and relief support matrix (update 12/10/2009)
(12/10/2009) CCFSC and the National Committee for Search and Rescue have instructed all provinces and coastal cities from Quang Ninh to Thua Thien Hue to closely monitor the situation regarding storm PARMA (No.10). They need to take all necessary preventive actions, keep rescue forces and logistics ready and send regular updates on the situation in their province to central level.
