1. Storm damage potential: STORM NO. 1 WATCH-OUT IN EFFECT.
2. Situation Analysis of the Tropical Storm No. 1: (According to Bulletin No. BCC-1-8/DBKT, issued by the Hydro-meteorological Service of Vietnam in Hanoi at 03:30 on June 9, 2004)
At 01:00 on 9th June 2004, the centre of the tropical storm was situated at 20.5oN latitude and 120.5oE longitude in the north-eastern region of the East Sea.
The strongest wind force measured near the centre of the tropical depression was at Beaufort Scale 12 (118 to 133 km per hour), with wind gusting to above Beaufort Scale 12.
Forecast:In the next 24 hours, tropical storm No. 1 will be moving between a north and a north-north-easterly directions at a speed of 10 to 15 km per hour, going out of the East Sea and having no likelihood to exert impact on Vietnam.
