Hailstorm and whirlwind caused damage in Phu Tho and Bac Kan provinces

Hailstorm and whirlwind occurred in Phu Tho and Bac Kan provinces in the 19^th and 20^th November 2006, which caused damage in two provinces.

According to a flash report No. 70/VP dated 20^th November 2006 from Phu Tho CFSC, damage caused by hail and whirlwind in 19^th November 2006 was as follows:

-         30 houses roofed out

-         207 ha of  agricultural produce damaged

-         11 tons of  rice seedling damaged

-         31 low-tension poles collapsed

-         42 tons of tea wet

Total damage estimated: 1,500,000,000 Vietnamese dong

The following is losses caused by whirlwind in Bac Kan province as reported by Provincial CFSC Office:

-         On 19^th November 2006: 22 houses roofed out, 13 ha of rice and 22.5 ha of agricultural produce damaged in Ba be and Ngan Son districts.

-         On 20^th November 2006: 80 houses roofed out in Ma, Khuoi Dam and La Ca villages, Quang Bach commune, Cho Don district.
